Middle School Camp

Stretch into new adventures! Regular camp activities for this age include the low ropes course, an off-site outing into God’s creation and a crazy costume dance at the end of the week. Swim, play games, make crafts, hike, sing around the campfire, share stories, and grow in faith with creative Bible study and worship! Caring, college-aged counselors show just how fun and powerful living for Jesus can be.

Celebrate our nation’s birthday and our freedom in Christ. Enjoy making costumes for a Friday celebration that includes a parade, picnic, games & fireworks–all in addition to regular camp activities.

Explorers Music Week (Grades 6-8)

July 8-14, 2018

If you love music, this is the week for you! In addition to regular camp activities, you’ll enjoy two hours of singing every day in preparation for a grand concert on Friday.

Late-night Christmas mischief and fun! All the features of Nite Owl weeks, plus Christmas in July activities.

Fire & Water Explorers (Grades 6-8)

July 15-21 and July 29-August 4, 2018

Fire and water are two of the best things about camp!

  • Build a campfire and cook a meal over it
  • Tubing outing on the French Broad River
  • Regular camp activities, including the low ropes course, an off-site outing into God’s creation, a crazy costume dance at the end of the week, swimming, games, crafts, hiking, singing around the campfire, sharing stories, and growing in faith with creative Bible study and worship!

Canoe Camp (Grades 6-8)

June 24-30 and July 15-21, 2018

An outdoor adventure program including:

  • Water Outing in Pisgah Forest
  • Canoeing on French Broad River
  • One night of tent camping by the French Broad
  • Rafting on the Nolichucky River
  • Some regular camp activities when on site

Launch Explorers (Grades 6-8)

June 17-23 and July 29-August 4, 2018

Camp is out of this world!

  • Create your own rocket, catapult, and rubber-band powered plane
  • Enjoy sling shots, stomp rockets and water balloon launchers
  • All regular camp activities: low ropes course, an off-site outing into God’s creation, a crazy costume dance at the end of the week, swimming, games, crafts, hiking, etc. – all with a high flying theme!
  • Outing to a trampoline park

A.T. Ramble (Grades 6-8)

A wonderful introduction to the skills of camping and the joys of camp

    • A day hike on the Appalachian Trail
    • A night of camping by the the river
    • Rafting on the Nolichucky River
    • Some regular camp activities such as the low ropes course, a crazy costume dance at the end of the week, swimming, games, crafts, hiking, etc.

Nite Owls (Grades 6-8)

June 10-16, June 24-30, 2018

Campers stay up later at night and sleep in later – turning them into “Nite Owls.” As the week goes on, the nights get later–until lunch is breakfast!

  • All the regular camp activities with a late-night twist: glow in the dark games/crafts, etc, night hike in Pisgah Forest, late night outdoor movie

Nite Elf Explorers (ONLY for completed grades 6-8) follow the same schedule, but the week also includes Christmas mischief and fun!

Cave & Wave (Grades 6-8)

June 17-23 AND July 29-August 4, 2018

This Outdoor Adventure Program (OAP) combines adventure above and below ground.

  • Guided exploration of Worley’s Cave
  • Rafting on the Nolichucky River
  • Most regular camp activities such as the low ropes course, a crazy costume dance at the end of the week, swimming, games, crafts, hiking, etc.

Rock & Raft (Grades 6-8)

This week is a week of adventure, physical challenge, spiritual growth–and new friends!

  • Low ropes course and high ropes – Challenge Tower and Zipline
  • Rock climbing
  • Overnight camping excursion
  • Rafting on the Nolichucky River
  • Not much time for regular camp activities

KAIROS Camp (Grades 6-9)

July 15-21, 2018

Kairos means “God’s Time.” Learn what living for Jesus is all about. Pastors, parents, and youth leaders are invited to participate with their youth–but youth may attend alone. This is faith formation at its best!

  • Christian Rapper AGAPE as resident musician
  • Engaging small group and large group teaching sessions
  • Community Service Project
  • All regular camp activities plus a camp-wide concert by AGAPE

Hammock Hangout (Grades 6-8)

June 24-30 and July 22-28, 2018

Campers love hammocks, and hanging out!

  • Get a new hammock to use and KEEP!
  • Spend one overnight in your hammock on site
  • Climb and Zipline at Asheville Treetop Adventure Park
  • Outing to Chimney Rock State Park
  • Most regular camp activities such as low ropes course, a crazy costume dance at the end of the week, swimming, games, crafts, hiking, etc.
